Marie Stevenson

Marie Stevenson has devoted her life to raising her daughters and promoting the arts. She taught art education to generations of Livingston public-school students between the years of 1989-2019. Additionally, Marie taught adult-ed, ceramic classes for close to 30 years; developing years-long friendships with her devoted adult students. Marie’s effectively-informative, laid-back- and sassy, teaching environment has had many students returning to her classes year after year. Primarily Marie has showcased her realistic bird sculptures and one-of- kind flower motifs, on her wheel thrown, functional pottery in many regional galleries and auctions. Her works have found homes both nationally and internationally.

Kelly Stevenson

Kelly Stevenson received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Montana State University before fulfilling her Masters of Fine Arts degree from Georgia State University in 2013. After three years of teaching ceramics as an Assistant Professor at Berry College in GA, she was able to return to her beloved Montana roots, when granted a Fellowship, Artist-Residency at the renowned Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramics Arts in Helena, MT from 2018-2020. Kelly has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally, has works included in private and public collections and is included in a handful of publications. Kelly has a true love and passion for the ceramics arts and gains great fulfillment in teaching this diverse craft to students of all ages and abilities.

Kelly and Marie chose to name their endeavor, Teslow Art Center, to celebrate their familial tie to the iconic, Livingston landmark: the Teslow Grain Elevator. Teslow is Marie's maiden name, and her Grandfather and Father were the creators, owners, and stewards of these celebrated Montana structures.

Marie and Kelly are overjoyed to grow community through the art center. Offering ceramic courses is just the beginning spark for the Stevensons. In the future, they plan to expand the facility and offer courses and workshops in a variety of styles and mediums. They look forward to creating a space that is welcoming for everyone, and in the future can accommodate artist-residencies and studio-rental space.
