Students are asked to come to the first class with a project in mind. The instructor will be there to guide you, problem solve, and encourage you to accomplish your own creative endeavors. We will look at the diverse range of approaches that can be taken towards manipulating this shapeless material and the ways that ideas can be embodied in material practices. All projects will be open to an infinite variety of solutions. Students can focus on hand-built pottery, sculpture and wheel throwing. Sketches and/or reference photos are STRONGLY suggested. Alternative firings are a likely option for finishing your work.
